Service & Outreach
Welcome to the Service & Outreach page!
Here you can learn what Service & Outreach means for CUMC and what missions we’re working with from projects in our local community to projects all around the world!
Some of our specific Service & Outreach projects include:
Wings of Hope in Malawi, Africa led by Bayana Chunga educating people about HIV and AIDS
Senior Brown Bag which helps feed seniors in our community
Adopt a Family Program which provides Christmas gifts to families who would have little or nothing on Christmas Day
Rainy Day Project that provides a dry place for those who do not have shelter during wet weather
One Warm Coat provides gently used jackets/rain gear/sleeping bags/etc to those on the Coast in need
Second Harvest Food Drive collects donated dry goods to donate to Coastside Hope for those in need
Community Backpack Drive in August before the new school year in collaboration with many other Coastside groups to make sure that all the children in our community are ready for school and have what they need to learn. This drive is for the 2018-19 school year. Together with Holy Family Episcopal Church, Coastside Jewish Community, Coastside Lutheran Church, Coastside Hope, Abundant Grace Coastside Worker, CUSD Migrant Family Education Program and other community groups we collect school supplies and fill backpacks for local children who cannot afford them. We always need cash donations for this ministry. These donations go toward purchasing the backpacks and other supplies. Mark the checks or envelopes “backpack”. If you have questions please call Don Carruth 726 5637.
These are just a few of the many programs that CUMC volunteers and supports to help the many in need on our Coast and around the world.
